Ramadan: Zakkat NGO Donates Cash, Foodstuff To Vulnerable Households In Zamfara
An NGO, Society for Zakkat Professionals has distributed assorted food items and  cash to 30 less-privileged households in Gusau Zamfara State.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the chairman of the organisation,  Malam Ibrahim Tudu said the gesture is meant to assist less-privileged families in the holy month of Ramadan.
Tudu added that the package comprised assorted food items like; rice, millet and cash assistance.
“The items distributed today were procured through the donations from philanthropists and some well-to-do individuals.
“Each beneficiary after receiving the package of food items, will also receive N2,000 for transportation,” he said.
Tudu noted that the organisation consists of members of skilled professionals from different fields, volunteers on charity and humanitarian services.
“This organisation focuses its attention in fight against poverty and social injustice.
“We collect donations, grants, Zakkat and other assistance from individuals and organisations for distribution to the less-privileged,” he explained.
Some of the beneficiaries, Malama A’isha Alhaji and Abubakar Muhammed appreciated the organisation for the kind gesture.
