NAPTIP, Azzawaj Seek Better Support For Trafficking Victims
The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and Azzawaj Women and Children Intervention Centre have called for enhanced support and standardized care for victims of human trafficking.
Speaking at a workshop on policy guidelines and service standards, NAPTIP’s Director-General, Hajia Binta Adamu Bello, represented by Mr. Effeh Ekrika, stated: “Human trafficking affects millions of Nigerians worldwide. While significant strides have been made, much more remains to be done.”
Azzawaj’s Executive Director, Asmau Abe Wala, emphasized the need for trauma-informed care: “Victims require specialized medical, psychological, and emotional support.”
Dr. Ebele Ulasi, NAPTIP’s Director of Training, added: “This is not just another training; it is about ensuring victims receive proper care.”
Stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating human trafficking through stronger partnerships and policy implementation.
