Bloodbath In Benue: APC Rep Cries To Tinubu As Killers Sack Communities, Over 50 Feared Dead



A House of Representatives member, Hon. Onyeche Blessing Onuh, has sent a passionate Save-Our-Souls message to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the worsening killings in Otukpo and Ohimini Federal Constituency of Benue State.

The visibly disturbed federal lawmaker, said innocent residents are being slaughtered while hundreds have fled their ancestral homes following repeated attacks by armed men.

In a letter to the President dated July 28, 2026, Onuh disclosed that no fewer than 50 persons had been killed within one month in communities such as Otukpo-Nobi, Akpachi-Ugboju, Agadagba and Efeyi.

She lamented that despite motions at the National Assembly, consultations with security agencies and public appeals, the attacks had continued without respite.

"Our people are under siege," he declared, adding that farmers could no longer cultivate their lands while families now live in fear.

The APC lawmaker pleaded with President Tinubu to immediately deploy additional troops and establish a Joint Task Force with a permanent operational base in the constituency.

She also sought emergency relief materials, medical support for victims and speedy approval for the establishment of the proposed Otukpo Army Barracks.

Onuh expressed hope that urgent presidential intervention would stop the bloodshed and restore normalcy in the troubled communities.
